The 90s slip dress

Okay, so here goes nothing. This is my first ever proper outfit post, please be gentle.

Fashion is something that I have been interested in a really long time. Although I use the word fashion lightly. I do not in anyway consider myself to be a fashionable person, but I am becoming more confident in my clothing choices and feel as though I am really starting to wear clothes that reflect my personality and taste.

A trend that I have really enjoyed lately is the 90s slip dress. I had been eyeing them off for months but never actively looked for one myself. I then found one in Supre of all places and then found this one in Dotti when we were in Melbourne and picked it up for a grand total of $15 or something ridiculous like that. I like the length of it, I have been leaning towards mid-length skirts and dresses as anything else just seems to be too short on me.

I picked up the striped shirt I’m wearing underneath from H&M and to be honest now looking back on these photos I hate it the combination without the jacket on haha I have also since cut off that strap that goes across the front of the dress, it looked weird when I had a plain coloured shirt on underneath. My denim jacket it an old one from Cotton On and my shoes are Old Skool Vans that I also picked up in Melbourne.

These shots were actually taken last weekend, we had just taken Zelda to the dog park and it started bucketing down. I was desperate for Matt to document my outfit though so on the way home the rain stopped for a couple of minutes so we stopped in Port Adelaide quickly to get these shots.

They aren’t the best (I never know what to do with my hands?!) and I hate having my taken photo but if I want this blog to be somewhat of a fashion blog then I have to grin and bear it.

Did you get on board with the 90s Slip Dress trend?

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

Lovely photos, I think you look fab! I’d like to venture into blogging about fashion but like you I wouldn’t consider myself a ‘fashion person’ so it’s a little daunting. However, I’ve been trying to blog about things I’m inspired by and not think too much about whether I’m an ‘expert’ or not 🙂

I think just go for it! I’ve been a bit slack lately but feel like fashion blogging is exactly what I want to do when I get the motivation again. Life is too short to worry about whether you’re an expert or not, you’ve got the right idea to blog about things that inspire you! Thanks for commenting! xx
