Friday Favourites: Winter Comforts

This week has been huge and I am so glad to be spending my Friday night at home, on the couch, with my favourite winter comforts.

Yep that’s right, we have officially hit winter in Australia and I honestly think the temperature instantly dropped 10 degrees the moment June hit. Thankfully though my home is stocked full of my favourite winter comforts to get me through the cooler days.

Comfortable clothes

I don’t know about you but the moment I get home from work I change into my comfy clothes. This usually consists of track pants, a t-shirt and a loose hoodie. My track pants of choice come from Cotton On, they come in a range of styles and colours to suit every need. I personally have these looser fitting grey ones and some plain black skinny leg ones, depending on my mood and whatever pair is clean at the time.

I am one of those people who hate wearing a bra, but also hates not wearing one. That’s where this Kmart bralette comes into the mix. It makes me feel like I’m wearing one, but not at the same time, does that make sense? Then, depending on the temperature, I might wear a shirt or I’ll just chuck on my Kmart mens zip up hoodie over the top.

A good book

We haven’t got our fireplace checked yet, but I can tell you that the moment we do Matt and I will be spending more time in our library room reading in front of the fire. I am a huge Young Adult fan and recently read Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland. Next on my list is either The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern or 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I don’t think there is anything better than cuddling up in bed or on the couch reading in winter.

A good cup of tea

I have been taking preference to tea over coffee lately. Shocking I know, but I have discovered the tea brand Higher Living. Higher Living are an Organic Tea company from England. They have a huge range of flavours that I have found in Woolworths and Coles. My favourite is the Cocoa and Chilli. I was hesitant at first but it has a faint chocolately flavour with a kick of chilli at the end that warms the tummy. Although, as I write this I am sipping a Green Tea with Chai and that is slowly taking over as my favourite.

Nail polish

Might sound odd but I love sitting on the couch painting my nails while watching TV. It does give Matt a slight panic every time (he’s afraid I’ll spill it) but I feel like I’ve got it down to a fine art now. I love Essie nail polishes as they last almost two weeks- which for me is a record. My favourite shade at the moment is Maximillian Strasse-Her which is a cool grey green colour. Something different from the usual black I have on my nails.

What did we do without Netflix? I try to remember but my brain must have blocked out the bad memories haha Seriously though, at the moment Matt and I are switching between Occult Killers, Parks and Recreation and when I get my way, Pretty Little Liars.

What are your must have winter comforts?

If you like this then check back in next Friday. I am going to attempt a Friday Favourites segment over here where I share a few of my favourite things every week. Let me know what you think or what you’d like to see.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

It is amazing! They sell their teas online but I’m not sure where you are located to be able to tell you if they ship to you or not. Definitely worth checking out. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂 xx
